Artisan Chocolates by Wood Row Chocolates

About Us

Our names are Simon and Jessie, Welcome to Wood Row Chocolate. Where passions for delicious food and art collide, bringing the best of both worlds together in a synergy of flavour and aesthetics. Creating hand painted miniature desserts in a chocolate shell, that are a pleasure to look at and eat.

Located on the Suffolk/Norfolk border, we work from a converted space in our home, our aim is to provide a unique product that exceeds all expectations. Our chocolate bonbons and bars are suitable for any occasion, whether that be a thank you to a friend, a gift for a loved one or a treat for yourself.

We can also provide for larger events such as weddings, supply restaurants or hotels, stock a deli shelf and everything in between. Our main goal is to help you… with chocolate.

Having both spent our entire adult lives working in the restaurant industry, with always being too exhausted to make the most of our creative pursuits, we knew that something had to change. We had seemingly endless time during the lockdowns to re-evaluate how to proceed with our lives.

During this period we could concentrate on the things we enjoyed doing, Jessie had endless craft projects to keep her busy, and Simon experimented in the kitchen. We discovered the art of making highly decorative bonbons. Shortly after, Wood Row Chocolate was conceived and we took the leap into the great unknown.

Four years have passed, and we continue to improve our product and inject our passion into everything we produce. We have received multiple awards with The Craft Guild Of Fine Food, now holding a total of seven Great Taste Awards, one of which being given the highly coveted three star award for our passion fruit and mango caramel. We have recently been recognised as ‘Best Local Food/Drink Producer’ for the region in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2025.

We continue to be humbled by the overwhelming support we receive for our small business, we appreciate it every time someone purchases from us. It brings us immense pride to know that our chocolates are being given to loved ones for all occasions, and if we can put a smile on their face and spread some joy, then we have accomplished our goal.

Our promise is to continue to improve what we do, and to enjoy every moment of it.

"Placed multiple orders as gifts for family. The only thing as good as they taste is how they look. Fabulous experience. And friendly prompt service too. Will definitely continue to use their services."

"I was sent a box of your chocolates for Easter. Not only are they the prettiest chocolates I’ve ever seen, they are also the most delicious. Such intense flavours. I just can’t pick a favourite. Looking forward to trying more flavours."

Our Journey So Far

  • Milestone one

    Where it all began

This is where we first met, The Leaping Hare Restaurant at Wyken Vineyards in Suffolk. This special place will always hold an everlasting place in our hearts.
  • Milestone two

    The revelation

It became apparent that we spent so much time in the restaurant, bringing others together and making sure they had the best experience, that we were neglecting those closest to us. Missing birthdays, social events, family occasions etc. Something had to change.
  • Milestone three

    A liminal space

The recent pandemic changed everything for us. All of a sudden, we were given a seemingly limitless amount of time to evaluate what was important to us: what we have been missing out on, and was it all worth it?
  • Milestone two

    A creative space

We spent this time learning new skills, pyrography, resin art, polymer clay work and, of course, chocolate making. The idea for Wood Row Chocolate started to manifest in our minds and it was a seed that continued to grow for another year.
  • Milestone two

    Reality check

Lockdown was over, life resumed and we went back to the daily grind. Nothing was different in the grand scheme of things, but simultaneously everything felt like it had changed. We made the difficult choice to leave the restaurant and make a change.
  • Milestone two

    Time to test

Friends and family were the first to test the chocolates. We got great feedback, but could it be trusted? We sold a few boxes to the public to get unbiased opinions and not only was the feedback positive, it was overwhelmingly positive. We realised that we could be on to something great.
  • Milestone two

    Chief taste testers

Behind the scenes, we worked on many flavours and designs, taking time to perfect the techniques involved and really hone our craft. It was a hard life taste testing all that chocolate, but somebody had to do it and as a result we had a line of products that we were ready to release into the wild.
  • Milestone two

    Wood Row Chocolates is born

It becomes official, we took this brave step into the unknown and embraced the challenge that was ahead! Jessie designed our logo and we developed our brand image together, continuing to work on designs and flavours behind the scenes.
  • Milestone two

    The Journey Begins

We had our first market stall and only a few weeks later appeared in The East Anglian Daily Times. Wood Row Chocolates had started to spread its wings!
  • Milestone two

    Expanding

We knew early on we would love to provide shops, hotels, restaurants and weddings with our beautiful and delicious creations. Through our contacts in the hospitality industry, we were presented with an opportunity to do so, customising boxes to suit the client’s needs.
  • Milestone two

    The Future

We’re going from strength to strength, with more venues requesting our bonbons as word spreads! We were featured in The Observer and everything got a little crazy! We count our blessings and look forward to what the future holds.
