About Us

Our names are Simon and Jessie, together we are Wood Row Chocolate

We aim to create unique and beautiful chocolate products that not only taste incredible, but also small works of art in their own right. We painstakingly paint each chocolate using a variety of techniques to create something that people may not have experienced before, we could make our life easier but where is the fun in that?

We use sustainable chocolate of the highest quality to make sure we are delivering a product we are 100% happy with. Flavour is paramount and will always be our main focus. Nothing pretentious, just simple flavours executed well, adding that chef’s touch with a bit of salt here and some acidity there to bring out the best in every ingredient. We use a variety of dark, milk, white and caramelised chocolates to bring you an interesting mixture in every box we make. Our fillings range from classic flavours such as salted caramel to more elaborate flavours like our apricot, pistachio, honey & cinnamon, for example. The possibilities are endless!

We look forward to what the future holds for us here at Wood Row Chocolate Headquarters, and we would be honoured if you would join us on our journey. Any occasion is better with chocolate, and if we can make a special day even more special then we have achieved our goal, whether it’s a birthday, wedding, Valentine’s, Christmas, Easter, Mothers Day and everything in between. Or maybe you simply enjoy eating handmade and delicious chocolate? Whatever the reason, we’ve got you covered!

Our Journey So Far

  • Where it all began

This is where we first met, The Leaping Hare Restaurant at Wyken Vineyards in Suffolk. This special place will always hold an everlasting place in our hearts.

  • The revelation

It became apparent that we spent so much time in the restaurant, bringing others together and making sure they had the best experience, that we were neglecting those closest to us. Missing birthdays, social events, family occasions etc. Something had to change.

  • A liminal space

The recent pandemic changed everything for us. All of a sudden, we were given a seemingly limitless amount of time to evaluate what was important to us: what we have been missing out on, and was it all worth it?

  • A creative space

We spent this time learning new skills, pyrography, resin art, polymer clay work and, of course, chocolate making. The idea for Wood Row Chocolate started to manifest in our minds and it was a seed that continued to grow for another year.

  • Reality check

Lockdown was over, life resumed and we went back to the daily grind. Nothing was different in the grand scheme of things, but simultaneously everything felt like it had changed. We made the difficult choice to leave the restaurant and make a change.

  • Time to test

Friends and family were the first to test the chocolates. We got great feedback, but could it be trusted? We sold a few boxes to the public to get unbiased opinions and not only was the feedback positive, it was overwhelmingly positive. We realised that we could be on to something great.

  • Chief taste testers

Behind the scenes, we worked on many flavours and designs, taking time to perfect the techniques involved and really hone our craft. It was a hard life taste testing all that chocolate, but somebody had to do it and as a result we had a line of products that we were ready to release into the wild.

  • Wood Row Chocolates is born

It becomes official, we took this brave step into the unknown and embraced the challenge that was ahead! Jessie designed our logo and we developed our brand image together, continuing to work on designs and flavours behind the scenes.

  • The Journey Begins

We had our first market stall and only a few weeks later appeared in The East Anglian Daily Times. Wood Row Chocolates had started to spread its wings!

  • Expanding

We knew early on we would love to provide shops, hotels, restaurants and weddings with our beautiful and delicious creations. Through our contacts in the hospitality industry, we were presented with an opportunity to do so, customising boxes to suit the client’s needs.

  • The Future

We’re going from strength to strength, with more venues requesting our bonbons as word spreads! We were featured in The Observer and everything got a little crazy! We count our blessings and look forward to what the future holds.
